Many men and some boys will experience enlargement of their breasts for various reasons. Of course, this is sometimes a source of anxiety and embarrassing embarrassment for them, but male-breast-reduction is possible through plastic surgery. The Causes of Male Breast Enlargement

Medications for Male-Breast-Reduction
When seeking treatment, males with gynecomastia will first receive an evaluation. After the evaluation, they also undergo an endocrine evaluation. If it is determined that there is no medical solution, then surgery may be recommended. Medications can sometimes be given to males to help reduce the enlarged breasts. Testosterone can sometimes be helpful if there are low levels of the hormone present. Where levels are normal, it will not help. Other medications may be beneficial, but they may be limited. The usefulness of medications may also be limited to the early stages of breast growth – until scarring begins, which is usually about 12 months later.

If it is decided that surgery is the best treatment, the patient will need to talk to the surgeon to understand what is involved. Generally, the patient will be under general anesthesia, and the operation will take about an hour, depending on whether one or both breasts need reduction.

If they are larger, the surgeon will need to remove the excess fat, some skin, and will have to move the nipple. These procedures will tighten the muscles and give the patient a more masculine appearance. If the nipple area has been enlarged, it can also be reduced during the surgery.
